Tony Cragg studied at Gloucestershire College of Art, Cheltenham from 1969 to 1970. He went on to study at Wimbledon School of Art, London from 1970 to 1973 and subsequently at the Royal College of Art, London from 1973 to 1977. In 1977 he moved to Wuppertal in Germany, and has taught at the Kunstakademie, Düsseldorf since 1978. Other exhibitions have shown Kandinsky, Klee, Joan Miró, Giovanni Giacometti, Keith Haring, Andres Serrano, Peter Greenaway and Tony Cragg. As well as painting and sculpture, the hall is used for events such as theater performances, films and lectures.

He studied at the Staatliche Kunstakademie Düsseldorf between 1979 and 1986 under teachers such as Tony Cragg. He returned to Sweden in 1996 and now 

English sculptor Tony Cragg attended the Wimbledon School of Art and the Royal College of Art. He relocated to Wuppertal, Germany in 1977 and began teaching at Düsseldorf’s Kunstakademie in 1988. With fellow sculptors Bill Woodrow and Richard Deacon, Cragg became associated with the ‘New British Sculpture’ movement of the 1980’s. Tony Cragg was born in Liverpool, England, in 1949.

Tony Cragg's early work involved site-specific installations of found objects and discarded materials. [2] From the mid-1970s through to the early 1980s he presented assemblages in primary structures (as in his first mature piece, the 1975 Stack) [2] as well as in colourful, representational reliefs on the floors and walls of gallery spaces (as in Red Indian of 1982–3). [3]
